The Howitzer is the Human artillery unit.

Background

Similar to the Longbow, this automated weapon is named for an archaic, long range weapon meant to destroy large groups or defensive emplacements. Today's Howitzer focuses on combating massed enemy troops, utilizing specialized displacement technology to disperse the explosion of its energy mine to maximize the effective area of fire. This technology is also used in the Lancer, except focused to a single point to maximize penetration instead of spread.

Overview

Maintaining the name its ancestors had centuries ago, the Howitzer provides long-range artillery support for the Human army. Shells fired by the Howitzer are actually invisible mines that implant into the ground and detonate if enemy troops move into range.

Tips

• Howitzer mines remain on the ground for a short time after landing.
• Howitzers can ground-target their shots, allowing you to create minefields before the enemy strikes.
• Use ground-targeting to fire on high terrain, even if you do not have vision.

Tech upgrades

Repair subroutine Gladii, Howitzers, Lancers, and Tridents all repair overtime while not suffering damage.

Proximity mine radar Howitzer mines gain extended vision radius and remain for a longer duration.
